Sun Shower

You know what I haven't done for a long time? Just sit down and draw something just for the sake of drawing. Nothing that is part of some larger project, nothing that is fan work. The result is this, to which the inspiration was listening to music like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XZJ5m… I really wanted to challenge myself with this one. It started off as a challenge to push my shading techniques. But more so, it became a challenge to improve my background work. For those of you familiar with my work, I tend to avoid drawing backgrounds. Never had the patience for all of that detail and working out the perspective is a pain. But I feel that because of my avoidance, I have hindered myself as an artist all these years. That being said, any criticisms or tips to improve my background work would be greatly appreciated.
