Applebloom Comic

When I got back from my deployment, I had a lot of pent up drawing to do. And since one of the things that kept me entertained was downloading the episodes of My Little Pony (don't judge me) in every port, I had more than a few fan comic ideas itching to get out. Here's one of them.

For those of you who know nothing about the show and require an explanation: In the show"My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" the characters almost all have images on their flank. These images always coincide with the character's name (Applejack has apples, Fluttershy has butterflies, etc). These are called "Cutie Marks". However, we are told in the show that a pony's "Cutie Mark" appears when they discover their special talent. Kind of like a right of passage into adulthood or a puberty thing. And despite their conveniently placed name, the cutie mark represents that special talent. One of the ongoing plots to the show is that the young filly Apple Bloom is impatient about gaining her Cutie Mark and constantly tries a variety of things to discover what her special talent is. In one episode, it is heavily suggested that carpentry may be her special talent, she just doesn't realize it. But if that's the case, then her cutie mark would have something to do with carpentry and not something like an apple bloom to match her name.
